The Bowie Baysox (Double-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) hosted Heroes Day on Sunday, July 31. A portion of the ticket sales from the game benefited The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc.
A great afternoon was had by all as Will Mumford threw out the first pitch to kick off the afternoon. Alisha, Jay and Olivia Bartels also attended the game. Following a big Baysox Win against the Altoona Curve the Anne Arundel County Fire Department challenged the Maryland State Police to a charity softball game.
CCF is grateful to the Bowie Baysox and co-managers of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department recreational softball team Lt. Brad Schriefer and Lt. Phillip Hunt, who continue to support CCF and raising awareness and advocacy for pediatric cancer research.
Funds raised from this event make a difference in our efforts to find better treatments and cures for pediatric cancer. CCF is grateful for the support of this incredibly generous group of heroes and extends our gratitude to all involved in making it such a successful day, as well as the financial support.
