The work at CCF values each individual child facing a diagnosis of cancer. Cancer does not discriminate, and neither must we.
Like those nationwide and worldwide, we are pained and saddened to bear witness to the unjust deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and far too many others. We hope that the resulting movement from these senseless acts will create meaningful change in our country.
CCF has long recognized that, in the cancer world, there is no room for intolerance. Life and death can hang in the balance at every turn during treatment. CCF will stay committed to working with diverse communities to ensure that discrimination has no place in any aspect of our work- research, programs or facilities. For our youngest patients, what bonds them is fighting cancer. That is certainly a big enough battle. We recognize that there is much more work to be done and are determined to learn, grow, and take action whenever we can to ensure that racism, bias and discrimination have no place in our community.
