The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) had the opportunity to thank the amazing and dedicated women and men of the Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters Local 1563 who initiated and organized a “Fired Up for Childhood Cancer Awareness” Family Fun day held September 10th, 2017, at the Earleigh Heights Fire Department in Pasadena, MD. Hundreds of families enjoyed the food, games, activities, raffle and silent auction throughout the day. Many area fire and police departments participated in the day’s activities and dozens more businesses donated their time and services to raise money for CCF and the Cool Kids Campaign.

A team of five – Lt. Dreama Jester, Yuliya Brown, Ashley Eckhart, Holly Hathaway, and Kevin Amig – helped an entire community come together to raise $5000 for each charity. On October 11, the president of the A.A. County Professional Fire Fighters, Joe Addivinola, invited CCF, Cool Kids Campaign, and the organizing team to headquarters to present the checks.

CCF is truly grateful for the A.A. County Fire Fighters’ commitment to raising funds and awareness about pediatric cancer. The team is already “fired up” to confirm a date for 2018. CCF will share the date and location as details become available.
