UPDATE October 13, 2020 – Giant Food launched its 16th annual Pediatric Cancer Campaign fundraising program on August 14th, which aimed to raise $2M. But just five weeks into the campaign, Giant Food and its shoppers raised $2.2M! The goal was surpassed before the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month of September was even over, breaking past campaign records.
CCF is grateful to Board member Terry McGowan, Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Giant Food, Ira Kress, President, Giant Food Eastern Division and the entire Giant Food Team for their loyal and generous support. Giant will be presenting CCF with a check for $615,000 at the Virtual CCF Gala scheduled for November 12.

August 24, 2020 – Giant Food launched its 16th annual Pediatric Cancer Campaign fundraising program on August 14th, which aims to raise $2M. This campaign spans Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September) and will conclude on October 9, 2020. Since 2005, Giant Food has raised over $23.5 million for pediatric cancer research.
This year, Giant Food shoppers are asked to make a $5 donation and receive a thank you postcard from one of the ambassadors. However, this year, the thank you card can then be used as a $5 coupon toward the next shopping trip to support the pediatric cancer campaign. Shoppers may also choose to round up their checkout total.
100% of the proceeds raised from the Giant Food Pediatric Cancer Campaign support Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF). Some of these funds directly support CCF’s Giant Food NextGen Research Awardees.
