The Bowie Baysox (Double-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) hosted Heroes Day on Sunday, July 21. A portion of ticket sales from the game benefits The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc.

A great afternoon was had by all as Kori Patterson threw out the first pitch to get things started. Kori, with her family enjoyed the afternoon game. CCF was delighted to see Emma Miller and family who also enjoyed the afternoon.  Following the Baysox game against the Hartford Yard Goats, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department challenged the Maryland State Police to a “Guns ‘n Hoses” charity softball game.

CCF is grateful to the Bowie Baysox and Lt. Brad Schriefer of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Lieutenant Schriefer’s leadership has ensured a strong partnership with the Baysox community.

Funds raised from this event make a difference in our efforts to find better treatments and cures for pediatric cancer. CCF is grateful for the support of this incredibly generous group of heroes and extends our gratitude to all involved in making it such a successful day.
