Safeway supports pediatric cancer research in partnership with The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc.

For over 30 years, The Safeway Foundation’s Eastern Division has generously supported The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) (www.childrenscancerfoundation.org), which raises funds to support research, programs and facilities focused on treating and curing pediatric cancer.  Matthew Boyd serves on the CCF Board of Directors. Additionally, retired Produce Procurement Manager Steve Coomes continues to serve on the CCF Board. Safeway proudly supports the mission of CCF.

Since 1983 The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. has awarded grants of over $36.6 million to area hospitals and researchers to treat and cure childhood cancers. Safeway Eastern Division has directly helped CCF make a difference in the area of pediatric research through supporting CCF and their efforts in the local community. Safeway Eastern Division enthusiastically raised over $300,000 in 2016 to support of CCF during our May point of sale initiative.  We proudly partner with CCF with the goal of finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
