The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to raise funds to support facilities, research and programs in Maryland, D.C. and Northern Virginia to aid in the treatment and cure of pediatric cancer. CCF is not affiliated with any national charity.
Since our founding in 1983 by Shirley Howard, and with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers and a small staff, CCF has awarded over $38.6 million to area hospitals and researchers to treat and cure childhood cancers.
Through generous support from corporations and individuals, CCF has built Pediatric Oncology Units and facilities at:
- The Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Sinai Hospital
- The University of Maryland Medical System
- The Children’s National Health System
- Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center
- and The Children’s Inn at NIH
Research and Programs:
CCF funds research and programs through the annual awarding of grants to researchers and institutions.
The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3). All donations made to CCF are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Code.
