Annual Kids Holiday Party offers precious smiles

December 13, 2018 By CCF Staff

Over 60 children and family members gathered at Tino’s Italian Bistro on Saturday, December 8 to enjoy an afternoon of friendship, survivorship and activities, hosted by The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Kids undergoing treatment, as well as survivors, siblings and parents enjoyed a delicious lunch, games, face painting, a visit from Santa and gifts that were donated by our generous community. In a few cases for these children, party was the only outing they’d enjoyed in a while and were given the opportunity to “just be a kid” for an afternoon. A grandmother shared with us that her grandson had fun making a pizza and “was just the pick me up he needed.”

In return, CCF is reminded that these children and their families are incredibly generous, resilient, and brave. They inspire us to remain focused on finding cures for children’s cancer.

Board members Jerry Chadwick, Lindley Bucci and Steve Coomes joined the celebration, along with volunteers extraordinaire, Carolyn Coomes and Alisha Bartels.

CCF extends our appreciation to Lance Cook of Tino’s, all of our partner hospitals, Giant Food and, of course, Santa!

Happy faces were in abundance throughout the afternoon.

Santa’s visit brought plenty of smiles to children’s faces.

Emma’s little sis also got to choose a winner for one of the raffles.
The joy of picking the winner can sometimes be more exciting than the prize itself.

Taking time out to get a little holiday cheer on her cheek!
