Payton (L) joined her parents to see Olivia (2nd from L) present her research poster at the CCF Research Symposium in June 2023.
Payton was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in October 2010, shortly after her 3rd birthday. During that time, she had to endure numerous chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays at the University of Maryland Medical Center for several years.
Payton has been in remission for many years. She and her family have joined us for many events including the children’s holiday parties and the gala. Most recently, she and her family participated in the 2023 CCF Research Symposium, where Payton’s older sister was presenting a research poster as a student at Georgetown University.
