On June 2, 2017, Mt. Airy Elementary School raised over $16,000 to support the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. through an all-school Dance-A-Thon.

Lead by Leah Offutt’s dedication and commitment to finding a cure for pediatric cancer, the school danced to raise critical funds on behalf of CCF.

Leah, founder of the Jake Offutt Foundation addresses the students, dances and leads Mt. Airy Elementary School to an extraordinary day.

CCF is grateful to Leah and the Mt. Airy elementary school team.  More about the event and Ms. Offutt’s journey can be found below and here.

From Leah Offutt:

So this week has been filled with lots of wonderful events. A celebration of Jake’s life with family and friends, a celebration at St. John School where everyone dressed in Jake’s favorite colors and we got the wonderful privilege of helping present a check to Justin Berk and The Cool Kids Campaign to help children and their families going through cancer.

Today, was an inspirational day filled with love, hope, kindness, and so much more I can’t even describe it. My school, Mt. Airy Elementary, held our first Dance for a Cure Dance-A-Thon to benefit The Children’s Cancer Foundation. This fundraiser touched the hearts of many. Many kids went door to door asking their neighbors to help kids with cancer, many asked their friends to make a donation. There were donations as small as $1 and as large as $500. The community came together to truly make a difference for doctors and researchers to be able to find a cure and provide a better future for kids with cancer. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community and school. Together we raised $16,434.54.

There were many generous businesses that contributed and sponsored the event as well. They eagerly jumped on board and I cannot thank them enough for believing in this cause. Thank you to EVERYONE who was a part of this event! Please take a look at the list and give them some business if you can.
