(COLUMBIA, MD) The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) was selected as one of several local organizations to receive a $10,000 We Care Grant from Safeway Foundation. Safeway Foundation has been a significant funder of CCF’s programs for more than 30 years.
In addition to financial support, Safeway continues to partner with CCF through committed board leadership– initially with Steve Coomes (now retired), who continues to serve on the CCF Board. Matt Boyd served from 2017 until 2020. CCF is most pleased that Bryan Caudle, District Manager at Safeway Mid-Atlantic Division joined the CCF Board of Directors this past November. CCF is honored to be among the community non-profits supported by Safeway employees.
CCF President Tasha Museles agrees. “We are truly grateful for our continued partnership with Safeway and Safeway Foundation,” she says. “In these unprecedented times, grants make a huge difference for an organization like CCF. It is community commitments like Safeway’s that make it possible for CCF to enable researchers to advance better treatments and cures for children with cancer.”
Funds received from the We Care grant will directly impact outcomes in pediatric cancer research and programs benefitting local children battling cancer. Since 1983, CCF has granted over $40 million to local researchers, facilities, and programs.
