The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) extends its appreciation to Culper Technology for hosting its first annual Battle of The Bands concert on September 10, 2026 at the Collective Encore in Columbia, MD. The sold-out event raised over $34,000 for CCF.

Four bands, all who have representation in the local government contractor industry, or GovCon, competed for bragging rights, a trophy, and a future gig at the Collective Encore:

  • Left Hand Out
  • Wicked Dreams
  • No Boundaries
  • Left of the Dial

Through online voting, the guests declared Left of the Dial to be the winners.

CCF enjoyed working with our new friends, Culper Technology’s owners Brooks and Sara Schilling, who, along with Chief of Staff Angela Tweedell, organized an incredible evening and facilitated more than 30 sponsors to raise critical funds to support CCF’s mission.

We also thank Collective Encore owners Randy Smith and Staci Samaras for hosting, and to Rea Hacker, who served as event coordinator.

The local GovCon industry sponsors included:

  • Vibrint
  • LORO Corporation
  • Momentum/YOUniversal Love
  • Akina, Inc.
  • Peraton
  • Peterson Technologies
  • RealmOne
  • Integral Engineering Solutions

The business community continues to amaze and humble us with their dedication and generosity to help us fund research to cure pediatric cancer.
