Over 100 guests, including patients, survivors and family members, gathered at The Periodic Table in Columbia, MD on Saturday, December 3rd to enjoy an afternoon of friendship, survivorship and activities, hosted by The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. It is the first time that CCF has been able to hold an in-person event since 2019, so it was exciting to be together again!
Kids undergoing treatment, as well as survivors, siblings and parents enjoyed a delicious lunch, games, a visit from Santa, raffles and gifts that were donated by our generous community, including CCF Board member Charmel McMillan. The afternoon provided a much-needed break for some of our special guests who are undergoing treatment or recently were discharged from the hospital. This annual occasion reminds CCF staff and supporters how these patients and survivors, and their families, are incredibly resilient and brave. They inspire us to remain focused on finding cures for pediatric cancer.
Board Members Steve Coomes and Charmel McMillan helped throughout the afternoon. CCF is grateful to Carolyn Coomes, Alisha Bartels and Elda Devarie of EMD Sales who volunteered their time to help make it a successful day.
CCF extends our appreciation to Lance Cook, owner of both Tino’s Italian Bistro and The Periodic Table, and the dynamic and dedicated staff of The Periodic Table, the families, our partner hospitals, Giant Food and, of course, Santa!
Happy faces were in abundance throughout the afternoon.
